About Us

Neil Emburey has worked in Financial Services since the mid 1990’s and has spent the last 20 years or so advising the same select client bank.

In 2024, we experienced a family tragedy with the sudden and unexpected passing of our eldest son, Tom Emburey, at the age of 24.

Upon informing Neil’s clients of this loss, it became evident that the relationship extended beyond mere business interactions, as his clients did not perceive Neil solely as an adviser but rather regarded him as a friend, who also happened to be their adviser.  As a family we were profoundly moved by the sincere expressions of sympathy and affection that we received following Tom’s death.

Following Tom’s death, we took some time to consider our future. After a period of reflection, we decided that it was important to reassess life to achieve a better work-life balance and find ways to honour Tom’s memory, whether financially or through voluntary work.

However, Neil also recognized that he had a strong passion for his work and providing advice to his clients as their trusted adviser was something he wished to continue. Which led to the creation of Embers Wealth Management, a business co-owned by the remaining family members, who are all also employed in the business.

Neil will be advising clients, assisted by Ben (Neil and Julie’s youngest son), who will in time look to become a financial planner in his own right. With Julie supporting both and making sure everything in the office works as it should do.

In essence, from the challenges of our personal tragedy, we have charted a new course for our lives, that will enable us to not only provide a first-class service to our clients but also enable us to do it in a way that honours Tom's memory.
